The Shun Ken Onion 10-Inch Chef's Knife quality is far beyond the Wusthof brand and so is the edge that this knife can carry. This knife is perfectly balanced and easy to handle even for the inexperienced cook.

To test its sharpness, I cut into a tomato and the weight of the knife carried the blade through it!I would highly recommend this knife to anyone who is a cooking fanatic.

This spectacular 10-inch chef's knife combines Shun technology and a lusciously curved black handle by award-winning custom knife designer Ken Onion. Made of a hardwood-resin fusion known as Pakkawood, the handle is designed to be truly ergonomic in order to increase control and reduce fatigue during long stretches of chopping, mincing, and slicing.

This Shun knife's long blade is great for slicing or mincing big bunches of greens and other vegetables. The multi-layer clad stainless steel construction means the edge stays sharp longer and the outer layers resist corrosion.

As part of the Shun Classic line, the Shun Classic Ken Onion Series shares the same materials and Pattern Damascus clad blades as Shun Classic. But the Ken Onion series elevates ergonomics to an art form. Every aspect, from the shape of the blade to the way the handle fits snugly into the user's hand, has been designed for superlative comfort and control.

Why spend so much money on a knife? Well, if you spend a lot of time in the kitchen, and you almost always have to bust out a knife to prep a meal from scratch - why not use the best? Why spend that time with items that you love and brings you pleasure to use?

Many times, it's the small things that brings us the most pleasure in life, and I consider my Shun Ken Onion 10-Inch Chef's Knife  as one of those things. Having something so beautiful and yet so sharp and perfect - it makes my time cooking just that much more enjoyable.
